Goldie
Director: Matthew Gilliam
Screenwriter: Ed Fletcher
Genre: Drama
A modern twist on a storybook classic, Goldie is a dramatic short about a young woman trying find her way after making a big life change.
Goldie was a submission in the 2014 Sacramento International Film Festival’s 48-hour film challenge where it won the “Audience Choice” award. While no additional footage has been shot, the film has been re-edited and scored for broader release.
What the film lacks in production value (it was shot in a weekend), it makes up for in heart with a story that pulls in audiences.
The film was directed by Matthew Gilliam, a Sacramento indie film maker with fast growing resume and stars the talented Christa Qiin. Goldie was written by Sacramento Bee reporter Ed Fletcher, who is also growing a film resume.
